Liposuction

What does this mean Liposuction

Liposuction is known as the suction of fatty tissue. Many people suffer from abnormal fat distribution or accumulate fat deposits in areas of the body that are aesthetically unflattering. The abdomen, hips, thighs, ankles, or even the chin are frequently affected. Abnormal fat distribution can detract from the overall aesthetic appearance. Patients often complain that they cannot find suitable clothing because their body proportions are unbalanced. Liposuction can permanently improve one’s body image and boost self-confidence. Liposuction is intended to enhance the figure, not to reduce body weight.

To maintain the results long-term, a healthy diet and physical activity are essential. To this end, we have developed a program in collaboration with experienced sports and nutritional medicine specialists to support and optimize your results. Please contact us.

Information on the surgical procedure

The areas of the body with unwanted fat deposits are discussed and marked beforehand. Through small, inconspicuous skin incisions, a hypoosmolar solution enriched with a local anesthetic is evenly injected into the previously marked areas. This causes the fat cells to swell so that they can be easily suctioned out through the skin incisions. The key to successful Liposuction is to reduce fat cells evenly and create a smooth, uniform appearance.

Hospital stay and anesthesia

The need for a hospital stay depends on the amount of fat tissue removed and any underlying medical conditions the patient may have. Amounts of up to 2.5 liters of fat tissue can be removed on an outpatient basis. For larger volumes, a 1- to 2-day hospital stay is recommended, as pain and circulatory fluctuations may occur after the procedure.

In principle, liposuction can also be performed under local anesthesia. We recommend performing the procedure under brief, gentle general anesthesia.
