On the last weekend of October, the „Oberursel Health Forum“ took place at the Oberursel Stadthalle, where medical practices and companies related to the health sector presented themselves and provided visitors with personalized consultations. We also took this opportunity to showcase the spectrum of our practice.
In the process, it was also necessary to dispel many of the prejudices associated with plastic surgery. Dr. B. Baican and Dr. C. Luther provided insights into plastic surgery and hand surgery in a joint lecture. Many guests were impressed by the broad spectrum of this specialty, as well as the great variety of reconstructive options following illness, the consequences of accidents, or tumor surgery.
We were able to show that a great deal of charitable work can also be done with the help of many pictures from our voluntary Interplast missions in Burma and Tanzania over the past years, which were displayed on a screen at our booth.
To actively involve the visitors, they had the opportunity to practice suturing with surgical instruments and also to practice resuscitation procedures and chest compressions on a resuscitation mannequin under the guidance of the anesthetist Dr. L. Köhler.
