Emergencies can occur at any time in medical practices. The crucial question is how the medical and non-medical staff handle these emergencies. Therefore, it is important and lifesaving for the patient if the staff is trained in dealing with emergencies and experienced in teamwork.
In 2015, new resuscitation guidelines were published. This, along with the fact that our practice team has been newly formed, prompted us to conduct an internal resuscitation training session for our practice.
Using a resuscitation mannequin, various scenarios were played through as a team so that we could practice the sequence of an emergency situation with artificial respiration and chest compressions.
Likewise, other potential emergencies that may occur in our practice and outpatient surgery center were discussed, and the necessary measures were actively implemented.
