A Mommy Makeover is not a single procedure, but a customized treatment plan for women whose bodies have changed as a result of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The tummy tuck is usually the centerpiece of the procedure: We remove excess skin, tighten the separated abdominal muscles (Rectus diastasis), and reshape the midsection. Depending on the patient’s condition and preferences, this is combined with a Breast lift, Breast augmentation, or Liposuction on the hips and flanks.
The goal: not to get back the body you had before having children. But to have a body that suits you—today.

Compression garment, pain medication, follow-up appointments. For the first two weeks, you’ll need help around the house—don’t lift anything heavier than 5 kg, and don’t carry small children. We need to plan for this realistically.

The final results will be visible after 6–12 months. They’re permanent as long as your weight remains stable. We’ll support you every step of the way.

If your abdominal wall causes verifiable symptoms—such as inflammation under skin flaps, severe Rectus diastasis with back problems, or limited mobility—you may apply for coverage of the cost of a tummy tuck. The combined aesthetic components are generally considered out-of-pocket expenses. We will prepare the necessary documentation and provide you with an honest assessment of your chances.
We minimize risks through careful patient selection, precise technique, and close Follow-up care. Anyone who smokes should consistently refrain from smoking for at least four weeks before and after the surgery.
Many of our female patients ask themselves this question – usually internally, sometimes out loud. The honest answer: If you take care of yourself, you are not a worse mother. You are a mother who feels her body is her own again. That affects everything, including family life.
This is one of the most important planning questions. For the first 4–6 weeks, you cannot lift small children or do housework that requires lifting more than 5 kg. Realistically, this means you will need support from a partner, family, au pair, or domestic help. We will discuss this in detail before the surgery.
We recommend waiting to have the procedure until you have completed your family planning. A subsequent pregnancy after a tummy tuck is medically possible, but it can significantly compromise the results. If you are unsure, that is a reason to wait.
A tummy tuck should be performed no sooner than 6 months after weaning so that hormones and tissues have had time to fully return to normal. For combined breast surgeries, we generally wait longer.
Dr. Potente and Dr. Baican perform Mommy Makeovers—usually together when multiple areas are being operated on. Whichever doctor consults with you will also guide you through your follow-up care. We’ll clarify this during our first consultation.

Yes. Many patients keep this very private, even within their families. A 2–3-night hospital stay and a 3–4-week break are easy to explain. If necessary, we issue discreet sick leave certificates.
That depends on the combination of procedures. A realistic range: €8,000 to €16,000 for most combinations, including the preoperative examination and follow-up care. Hospital stay (€500 per night) and General anesthesia (€1,000) are additional costs. You’ll receive a written quote before the surgery that lists everything. No surprises.
