GRAZ 14.09.2017 - 16.09.2017 | Diversity meets uniqueness
This year, the annual congress of the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons took place in Graz, jointly with the Austrian Society for Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Association of German Aesthetic-Plastic Surgeons.
For three days, we were able to listen to interesting lectures on the following topics:
Aesthetic facial surgery, Aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, Professional politics and law, Fat grafting, Dupuytren's contracture, Revision surgery and complications, Hand surgery, Interdisciplinary plastic surgery, Complex wounds, Complications in hand surgery, Body contouring surgery and regenerative medicine, Scar treatment, Plastic surgery in the elderly, Tissue engineering and biomaterials, Burn and intensive care medicine, What do self-help groups expect from plastic surgery?
Particularly exciting were the presentations on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, in which results of the evaluation of different implants were shown, body-contouring surgery and regenerative medicine with great talks on tightening procedures after weight loss, innovations in eyelid surgery, and lymphedema surgery.
Dr. med. Potente presented light and radiofrequency therapy for the treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa with our poster contribution.
The Dieffenbach Medal was awarded this year to Prof. R. Olbrisch, who gave the extremely exciting lecture „Dieffenbach and the Fathers of Plastic Surgery“.
Overall, it was a great congress.
