At the end of June, the 37th Senology Congress took place in Berlin, which we attended. Topics covered included the development and multidisciplinary treatment of breast cancer and recovery options following tumor surgery.
Many sessions were held on environmental factors, hormones and the development of breast cancer or genetic mutations (BRCA positive testing) and the indications for prophylactic breast removal. The reconstructive options after tumor surgery with implants or autologous tissue in the form of flap surgery or free tissue transfer in the form of lipofilling were also discussed.
